Matchday Two of the UEFA Champions League:
After matchday one it looked as though
Barcelona were the team to beat and Lionel Messi was the player to look out for after his two goal tally. But
Barcelona could only manage a 1-1 draw with Rubin Kazan with David Villa equalizing through a penalty kick. Lionel Messi came off the bench in the 60
th minute but couldn’t get his team a better result. Now it looks like Inter Milan are getting their form back with a 4-0 win over Werder Bremen and Samuel Eto’o scoring a hat-trick to take his tally up to four goals in two UCL matches. Bayern Munich came from 1-0 down to beat Basel 2-1 Bastian Schweinsteiger scored both of Bayern’s goals. Arsenal Beat Partizan 3-1 with two late goals. Real
Madrid won 1-0 over Auxerre with new singing Angel Di Maria scoring the winning goal in the 81
st Minute.
Ajax opened the scoring against AC Milan but Ibrahimovich got the equalizer and it was a 1-1 draw.
Chelsea defeated Marseille 2-0 at home. Manchester United and
Valencia played an exiting match and it looked like after
Valencia hadn’t converted their dominance into a goal that it would be a draw but up popped United’s new singing Javier Hernandez in the 85
th Minute to give his team a 1-0 win. In the other group C match Rangers defeated Bursaspor 1-0. Rafael Van Der Vaart scored a goal and was sent of for Tottenham in their 4-1 win over FC Twente at home.
So far there has been 86 goals scored after two rounds.
